About Chef Gunther:

The German-born Günther Koerffer lives since 1976 in Sweden. For almost 35 years, the master confectioner, who is now also a Swedish citizen, runs a bakery and café in Ulricehamn, a small town between Gothenburg and Stockholm.

Günther is mostly know to the public, thanks to his contacts with the royal house. The relationship goes back a long time: Back in 1977, Günther Koerffer prepared the dessert for the baptism of Crown Princess Victoria. In 2010 he was awarded the great honour of creating the wedding cake fort he weddig of Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden on 19 June, he was the creative director and pasrty chef of the project.

During his career he has work all over the world in both Tel-Aviv, Jerusalem, New York and Montreal. He passed his master exam in Lucerne, Switzerland.

Günther set a goal to end up in Guiness world book of records, said and done. On the 700th anniversary of his hometown in Sweden he baked a 700m cake. The cake required three and a half thousand liters of cream and three tons of marzipan.

The 64-year-old has had an impressive career, which has brought him to many different countries and given him the pleasure to meet both inpiring and powerful people. Amongst them the Pope in Rome.

He is very active in different Boards, he was World president of Bakers and confectioners for five years, he is vice president for the European bakers aswell as President for CEBP (the European bakers and confectioners in the European parliament) since 2019. He also has decades of experience as a juror in different wolrd championships, European bakery challenges as well as  Nordic championships.
